A windstorm hit Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province on Tuesday, bringing down trees and public facilities and even blowing a moving car to the roof of a nearby house.

The driver said he was going around a curve when a gale of wind came up and blew his car off the road. Before he could respond, the car fell on a nearby house whose roof was lower than the road surface.

Workers of a garage in Yanji city, capital of the prefecture, told China News Service that they changed the windshields for more than 30 cars in the day, most of which were shattered by strong winds.

Wind speeds reached 31.5 meters per second around noon, according to the Jilin Meteorological Observatory.

The weather returned to normal in the evening. Authorities are now trying to calculate the loss caused by the windstorm.
