Central China's Henan Province is expecting an early-summer harvest in the last ten days of May, Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday.

According to the report, about 12.5 million acres of wheat was planted in Henan this year, nearly 20,000 acres more than last year. Crops have grown well and are predicted to yield a good harvest.

The local government has also been praised for adopting measures to encourage the production of crops. The output of grains in the province has already surpassed 50 billion kilograms for two continuous years, said the report.
