Another transport aircraft of the People's Liberation Army Air Force arrived in Yushu Thursday, bringing medical equipment to the quake-hit Tibetan autonomous prefecture in southern Qinghai Province.

The Il-76 airlifter, which arrived from Beijing, carried stretchers, ultrasonic devices, portable X-ray machines, oxygen cylinders and first-aid medicines. It also brought 30 rescuers.

"This was the fifth military carrier aircraft to arrive here. It will transport the wounded from the quake zone," Wang Quansheng, a regimental commander with the Air Force, told Xinhua at the airport.

Wang said the Air Force had carried more than 100 tonnes of relief materials and almost 200 rescuers to Yushu from noon Wednesday to noon Thursday.
