The Long March II-F rocket that will carry China's manned spacecraft Shenzhou VII has reached the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu province.

Engineers have made 36 technical improvements in the new rocket, making it more stable and reliable and more comfortable for the astronauts.

The three astronauts aboard Shenzhou VII will be the first Chinese to walk in space, according to officials.

Media reports have said the spacecraft will be launched in October.
