Jinan, capital of Shandong province, generated $647 million worth of exports last month, a year-on-year increase of 83.9 percent, according to statistics from Jinan's commerce bureau.

The city's foreign trade reached $7.84 billion for the first three quarters, a 47.2 percent growth year on year, which was facilitated by the government's 10-million yuan fund for overseas expansion of local foreign trade enterprises. The funded companies involved produce electronic and mechanical equipment, high-end technology and textiles sold to 177 countries and regions.

Exports registered by these enterprises reached $3.26 billion during the first nine months, a year-on-year increase of 71.1 percent.
