The Shandong Provincial Museum in Jinan, Shandong's capital, was completed and opened to the public in November 2010. It is a comprehensive museum with the largest floor space of any provincial museum in China.

It houses a collection of more than 100,000 historical artifacts. Highlights of the collection include chinaware, bronzeware, painting, calligraphy, oracle bones, bamboo slips and pictorial stones from the Han Dynasty (202 BC- 220 AD).

The old Shandong Provincial Museum, founded in 1954, was the first large-scale provincial museum in China.
