The phase II wind power project of Guodian Weifang Binhai Wind Farm has been approved. The wind farm invested 430 million yuan (US$67.45 million) to install 16 wind turbine generator systems (WTGS). Each turbine has the capacity to generate power up to 3 MW, making them the most powerful turbines of all the wind farms in Shandong Province.

The project is under construction and is expected to operate in 2012. Energy generated by the completed project is expected to reach 92 million KW annually, while the annual operating income is projected to reach 65 million yuan (US$10.2 million).

Meanwhile, construction for the phase I project has completed, and it is currently in testing and will soon begin to operate.
