A number of Chinese agricultural enterprises including enterprises from Shandong province held a promotional meeting for Chinese fresh produces in London on Feb. 4, people.com.cn reported.

Under the coordination of the Chinese and British governments and non-governmental organizations, the meeting was held to quicken the expansion of Chinese agricultural products, including fresh produce, in the British market.

Britain relies heavily on imports of fresh produce, but has only imported a small portion of fresh produce from Chinese suppliers, which indicates great potential for cooperation in this sector, according to the meeting.

Representatives of agricultural enterprises introduced the attractive features of their produces at the meeting.

Shandong has been exporting fresh produce to Japan and South Korea for a long time, an official from the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province said.

Agricultural enterprises in the province have won wide acclaim from importers by introducing a set of strict standards on all links of their production chains to ensure product quality.
