New rules about drunken driving have been released in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province and they came into effect on Feb 10.

According to new rules, those who drank with people caught drunken driving will be considered responsible for the drivers' infringement of the Road Traffic Safety Law.

Passengers will be questioned at the police station to see if they tried to convince the offender not to drink or not to drive. The names of those who didn't try will be submitted to their workplaces.

Archives will be established, bearing information of those who drove under the influence of alcohol.

Archives will be submitted to the insurance regulatory department, which will affect the drivers' vehicle insurance in future.
