The 7th China (Heze) Agricultural Products Trade Fair kicked off in Shandong Province, on Feb 23, attracting more than 500 renowned domestic companies. More than 30,000 buyers are expected to attend the fair, leading to an anticipated 900 million yuan (US$143 million) trading volume.

According to the organizer, more than 50 percent of attending enterprises came from other provinces. The fair comprises four exhibitions, fertilizers, pesticides, seeds and high-tech pesticides.

Liu Guosheng, vice-mayor of Heze City said that the fair aims to expand the circulation of agricultural products and promote the rural economy.

Commenting on the location of the fair, Liu said that Heze was an ideal location due to its central position between Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan and Anhui Provinces. Nineteen cities immediately surrounding Heze are principally engaged in agriculture.

China (Heze) Agricultural Products Trade Fair is an agriculture product fair approved by China's Ministry of Commerce. During the fair, the ministry will hold lectures and seminars about scientific methods of agriculture.
