A tomb has been discovered near a tourist resort in Yishui county, Shandong province. An ancient warlord may have once rested here, as well as a collection of artifacts dating back more than 2,500 years.

The overall structure of the tomb clearly shows two cases of funeral objects placed in the northern and southern sides of the main burial chamber. Bronze wares discovered in the two cases indicate nobility.

Several bronze weapons, musical utensils, pieces of jade jewelry and ritual utensils have been unearthed from the site since the tomb was found in January, but remains of the tomb's owner have not been found.

Archaeologists have found some lady's belongings such as dressing cases as well as weapons like bronze swords in the northern case. This has caused confusion over the gender and status of the tomb's owner.

The tomb is situated at the top of a steep hill, an unusual burial site in comparison to the mountains where ancient aristocrats were usually buried.
