The throughput of the container in the Weifang Port has reached 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), according to the Binhai Economic Development Zone of Weifang City, Shandong Province.

With the construction of "Two Districts", the Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone and the Huanghe Delta Economic Zone, the Weifang Port has now a more obvious geographic advantage.

The port has opened regular shipping routes from Weifang to Yantai, through Jingtang to Jinzhou and to Yingkou.

The expansion of container service and opening of new routes has increased the container port's capability for cargo distribution.

The port plans to accelerate the construction of a logistic park and shipping service center.
