The ancient town of Tai'erzhuang, located in Zaozhuang City, Shandong province, was listed among the top five Chinese most beautiful water towns, released by CNN.

Located on the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the town is surrounded by water and has some classic bridges, an old water transport system, wetland parks, traditional temples, museums and the architecture of a bygone era.

It is also the site of the Battle of Tai'erzhuang, marked by an important Chinese victory during the Anti-Japanese War.

The ancient village of Hongcun, Anhui province; Zhouzhuang, Jiangsu province; Fenghuang, Hunan province; and the ancient town of Huangyao, Guangxi were also included in the list.
