Shandong lists 62 items as intangible cultural heritage

The People's Government of Shandong Province confirmed that 62 items were ranked as the third batch of Shandong's intangible cultural heritage.

The items were classified into nine categories: folk literature, traditional music, traditional dance, Chinese folk art forms, traditional sports & entertainment & acrobatics, traditional art, traditional skills, traditional medicine, and folkloric customs.

The listed items include Shuihu Legend, which was adapted from the well-known Chinese classic novel "Water Margin,"also known as "All Men Are Brothers", and traditional dance stilts.

In addition, 21 items were listed among the project directory of the third batch of Shandong's intangible cultural heritage, including the traditional novel "The Legend of Guiguzi" and the traditional Zheng, a Chinese instrument resembling a zither.

The provincial government urged to protect traditional culture.
