The Rizhao Port in Shandong has rapidly developed into a first-class port, with the cargo being able to handle 284 million tonnes per year, which ranks the port as the 12th largest in the world.

The construction of the port started in 1982 and began operating in 1986. After a development of more than 20 years, it plays a big part in the shipment of goods in China. Thanks to a continuous development, Rizhao Port Co., Ltd. was successfully listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2006.

The construction of the port has progressing by leaps and bounds, with its accumulative investment hitting 288 million yuan.

The cooperation with foreign companies has been upgraded, and the functions of the port have been perfected.

The multiple industries using the port have grown much stronger and increased employment. The average annual growth of the overall labor productivity is 16.7 percent.

The Rizhao Port has also contributed to the domestic economy, creating more than 30 billion assets in China.

The unique sunshine culture of the port has become an inner impulse for its development, which resonates, with sunshine, the Chinese meaning of Rizhao.
