The Rushan Forestry Bureau says it has made great strides in environmental conservation over the past 20 years, citing as evidence the quality of the forests.

According to the bureau, it executed a large-scale forestation plan using “market and competitive mechanisms.” The bureau said that wiping out injurious insects has also helped to conserve the forests’ biodiversity. A forest fire forecasting site and forest fire checkpoint were also established.
