The second dialogue with the mayors of Central Africa took place in Jinan.

Reporters today learned from the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office that the second dialogue with the mayors of Central Africa, jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shandong Provincial People's Government, will take place from June 27 to 29 in Jinan. 100 foreign guests from 19 countries in French-speaking regions of Africa, in addition to 300 representatives on behalf of Shandong Province and other municipalities, will attend the meeting. During the meeting, several discussions between the mayors will be held. Other activities on the agenda include meetings on trade and project promotion to Africa, plus dialogues on forms of cooperation between Shandong’s industrial advantages and Africa’s local development opportunities.

Shandong province has always attached great importance to economic and trade cooperation with African countries. It conducts business with 20 French-speaking countries there. In 2012, the bilateral trade volume reached $ 2,88 billion.

As a first important follow-up activity of the Central Africa Local Government Cooperation Forum, the first dialogue with provincial mayors of Central Africa was held in Dakar, Senegal in December, 2012. This year’s dialogue will be the second one with provincial mayors of Central Africa, and the first one held in China.
