The craft of inkslab in Zibo: an intangible cultural heritage in Shandong
The craftsmanship of making inkslab in Zibo was inscribed on the Shandong provincial list of intangible cultural heritage.

The craftsmanship of making inkslab in Zibo was inscribed on the Shandong provincial list of intangible cultural heritage. The inkslab produced in Zibo has enjoyed great fame in history. For example, Sima Guang once said that Zibo's inkslab is more valuable than jade. Also, Qigong, a contemporary master in calligraphy, considered it a pleasure to engrave on it.

Nowadays, Zibo inkslab is still highly valued due to its exquisite features, which serve both ornamental and practical functions. Xu Lirong, a craftsman, established a gallery to protect and promote Zibo inkslab in 1993. The craftsmanship was declared a city-level intangible cultural heritage in 2007.
