Shandong has been investing in public cultural services for the upcoming 10th China Art Festival.

During the preparations, 17.7 billion yuan has been invested in public cultural service facilities. Meanwhile, the capital has been applied to the expansion and renovation of libraries, cultural centers and museums. At present, provincial public libraries, cultural centers and museums all have 152, 158 and 205 sites, respectively.

Shandong takes the lead in realizing a complete coverage of digital libraries. Broadcast televisions are present in almost every household. More than half a million public films were projected during the first half of this year, and monthly plays have been staged in every village.

More than 1,300 villages feature multi-functional cultural centers. More than 59,000 administrative villages have cultural compounds with a coverage rate of 85 percent. More than 70,000 peasant bookstores are built, basically covering all provincial administrative villages.
