On the morning of Oct. 27, "The 2013 Autumn Art Works and the First Intangible Cultural Heritage Works Auction in Weifang," jointly hosted by the Weifang Cultural Property Rights Exchange Center, Weifang Newspaper Group and Weifang Beihai Academy, was successfully completed inside the Lijing Hotel.

The works in this auction included 216 excellent works and 17 intangible cultural heritage fine works of 156 calligraphy and painting masters from 25 provinces and autonomous regions throughout the country.

All auctioned works were rigorously examined and verified by the panel. At the meeting, people were enthusiastic to put in their bid. The works made 4.13 million yuan in sales, with 70 percent of the lots sold. This activity was also the first time that Weifang City put the intangible cultural heritage works on display in the form of an auction, which must play a guiding role in spreading and inheriting cultural products with local characteristics and promoting the integration of cultural resources and the economy of Weifang.
