The National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Finance have authorized the 8.19 billion yuan (US$1.35 billion) recycling reform plan of Linyi Economic and Technological Development Area.

The first national recycling reform demonstration park in Shandong Province will receive special funding from the central government.

The plan includes 38 key recycling projects that aim to enhance the productive capacity of resources and reduce resource consumption and industrial waste.

The economic park will also focus on integration, concentrated investment, resource conservation, industrial agglomeration and recycling.

Authorities hope that the recycling program will aid economic growth, as well as promote the efficient use of resources and a healthy environment.
