Yellow River Bridge at Changqing starts construction

The ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for the Yellow River Bridge in Changqing was held on March 5 on the banks of the Yellow River in Wenchang Street, Changqing District, Jinan City, noting the main phase of the bridge’s construction.

The project is launched by Changqing Yellow River Bridge Investment Co., Ltd.

The bridge will be built over the course of four and a half years and is set to be operated by the company for a total 25 years. After that, it will be handed over freely to the Shandong Province traffic management department.

The bridge covers a length of 8.6 kilometers and it can handle speeds of 100 km/h. It starts from the city moat of northwest of Changqing Old Town and passes thourgh no less thatn eight villages. It is expected to cost an overall 1.52 billion yuan (US$248 million).

The connection will become an important channel to connect Jinan, Liaocheng and Dezhou. The preferential industries of Jinan such as finance, education and logistics will promote the development of Dezhou and Liaocheng.
