Bangladeshi President insists on One China policy

Bangladeshi President Zillur Rahman said in Dhaka Sunday Bangladesh will always adhere to One China policy in relating to issues of Taiwan and Tibet.

Rahman made the remarks while receiving credentials presented by newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Zhang Xianyi at President House.

Rahman said the Bangladeshi government is dedicated to developing its economy and promoting people's living standard. He hoped the two countries can strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, culture, agriculture and education.

Rahman also welcomed Chinese companies to invest in Bangladesh.

Zhang Xianyi said China and Bangladesh are countries with big population and facing common task for quickening development.

Zhang appreciated Bangladesh for its achievement in alleviating poverty.

Zhang said he will try his best to push the comprehensive cooperative partnership featuring long-term friendship, equal and mutual benefit to a new level.
