Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu Sunday promised to give injured quake victims best medical treatment.

"We will implement the principle of 'put people first' in quake rescue and relief, and try our best to give the injured best medical treatment," said Hui while meeting some injured victims at a railway station of Chengdu, quake-hit Sichuan provincial capital.

These injured people were about to be on board of a special medical train that would send them to hospitals in Hangzhou, provincial capital of eastern Zhejiang Province.

The air conditioning sleeper train has adopted proper sanitation and assistants on board have received medical training from the Red Cross Society of China.

"You will receive better treatment in hospitals outside Sichuan and will soon be back home," Hui told the patients.

So far, about 6,000 quake patients have been sent out of Sichuan by air, railway and through highway.

As of Sunday afternoon, the Ministry of Railways have launched 11 special medical trains and sent 2,905 patients to eight cities outside Sichuan together with 2,861 family members and 1,071 medical workers.

Meanwhile, 52 flights and several hundred ambulances were also carrying quake patients out of the province.
