Tightened supervision urged over use of relief resources
Adjust font size:

Discipline inspection departments at all levels should tighten supervision over use of quake relief fund and goods to ensure they were properly used for quake-affected people, a top Chinese discipline inspection official said Tuesday.

He Guoqiang, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), urged local discipline inspection officials to ensure open and transparent use of relief resources.

"The source, amount and distribution of quake relief money and goods should be reported to the public," He said.

He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, urged to draw up a supervision work plan for relief resources.

Those found violating regulations of use and management of relief materials should be severely punished, he said.

He made the remarks at a meeting of CCDI's standing committee.
