Zhang Meiying

Born in January 1944, of Han ethnic group, native of Nanchong City of Sichuan Province.

Vice-chairwoman of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, first vice-chairwoman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League (CDL), and vice-president of All-China Women's Federation.

A doctor in chief.

1962-1968 Studying at the Fourth Medical University of the People's Liberation Army (PLA)

1968-1971 Surgeon with the No. 222 PLA hospital

1971-1979 Official with the Health Bureau of Haidian District in Beijing

1979-1994 Surgeon with the Beijing Research Institute for Tumor Prevention and Treatment

1994-1995 Deputy head of the Beijing Research Institute for Tumor Prevention and Treatment

1995-2000 Deputy head of the Beijing Research Institute for Tumor Prevention and Treatment, vice-president of the Tumor Hospital of the Beijing University of Medical Science and vice-president of Beijing Tumor Hospital

2000-2002 Vice-president of CDL Central Committee, executive member of the All-China Women's Federation and guest professor of the Tumor Institute affiliated to the Beijing University
