The Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee announced Tuesday the donation of 5 million yuan (731,000 U.S. dollars) to build ten "Hope Primary Schools of Ethnic Unity" in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The fund is jointly provided by the CYLC and the China Youth Development Foundation.

In addition, the youth league and the China Foundation for Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment will donate another 5 million yuan to promote employment among young people in Xinjiang.

The CYLC said it would also allocate 2.94 million yuan to 98 youth league organizations at county level in Xinjiang to promote education on ethnic unity and the country's legal system.
