Traditional woodcut pictures for Spring Festival

编者按：山东平度宗家庄木版年画已有200多年的历史，以传统的图案设计和精湛的工艺闻名全国，被列为省级非物质文化遗产。为了让木版年画的手艺不断弘扬与传承，宗家庄年画传承人张吉宙将木版年画馆开在了青岛东部CBD的写字楼内。张吉宙说：“这些年，随着印刷技术的发展，传统的木版年画越来越少了，我们村里也只有两家人坚持了下来，而我将年画馆开在城市里也是为了让更多的人去了解这门传统艺术，并将它更好的传承下去。”

Editor's note: The New Year woodcut pictures of Pingdu, Shandong Province, have long enjoyed a great reputation in China for their traditional design and excellent workmanship. With a history of more than 200 years, this folk art has been included in the provincial-level intangible cultural heritage list. Zhang Jizhou, a local wood engraver, recently opened a workshop in an office building in downtown Qingdao where he exhibits his works and offers classes to pass on the traditions to local people and tourists. "With the rapid development of printing technology over the past years, this traditional folk art is gradually being lost. I have opened this workshop so more people will have a better understanding of this folk art, inherit it and pass it on from generation to generation," he said.
