Domingo Praised for Being The First Emperor

Tenor Placido Domingo was generously praised by director Zhang Yimou for his dedication to the upcoming opera The First Emperor.

Zhang Yimou said in an earlier interview that Domingo has made great efforts in learning Chinese culture and singing his role as an ancient Chinese emperor and that the big-name star encouraged everyone with his enthusiasm.

Directed by acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou and composed by Tan Dun, the opera is slated to premiere in New York this Thursday.
