Under the pretext of searching for Boxers, the Allied Forces broke into the Yonghe Lamasery, which specialized in the practice of Tibetan Buddhism. After the Allied Forces left, the lamas at the temple found that much of their gold and silver musical instruments used for performing religious rites and Buddhist statues were gone.
