Earthquake Hits West China

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale on Friday jolted a place in between Zhidoi County of Qinghai Province and Bangoin County of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the State Seismological Bureau said.

Nobody was hurt as the earthquake took place in the Hoh Xil no man's land, the bureau said.

The quake struck at 5:27 p.m. on Friday, with the epicenter at 35.4 north latitude and 89.7 east longitude.
