Adjust font size:

English learning is taking a whole new route - the bus.World Link, published by US-based Thomson Learning, will be available on some buses in Shanghai this month, according to Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press at the ongoing Shanghai Book Fair.

The program is jointly sponsored by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, Oriental Pearl Mobile TV and Thomson Learning.

Passengers can follow English programs on monitors aboard buses to improve both listening and speaking skills.

According to Oriental Pearl Mobile TV, the program will have at least 9 million viewers every day.

"A realistic and interesting environment is very crucial for English learning," said Zhuang Zhixiang, president of Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press.

He said he hopes the program will help improve people's ability to speak English.
