A fire in two residential buildings killed nine people and left six others injured in east China's Zhejiang Province Sunday morning, local authorities said.

The fire broke out at about 5 AM in the buildings located at the Zeguo Township, Wenling City, a spokesman with the local fire-fighting brigade said.

The fire was put out at about 5:50 AM, he said. The spokesman provided no further details.
