Li Binghua, the Executive Vice-President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, launches the Beijing Olympic Security website with Liu Zhiqiang from the Public Security Ministry on Monday, January 15, 2007.

The Security Command Center for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games officially opened its International Liaison Department Monday morning, the Beijing-based Legal Evening Post reported.

The website of the organization, the Beijing Olympic Security Web (www.bjayab.cn ) is simultaneously being made accessible to the public.

The major tasks of the International Liaison Department include securing the large events against terrorist attacks, and fighting against multinational criminal organizations through international cooperation. The Beijing Olympic Security Web, meanwhile, will ensure the timely up-dating of information and effective communication between the organization and other international security organizations.

The information and interactive options on the Beijing Olympic Security Web are available in three languages: Chinese, English and French.
