Taiwan to Launch Travel Packages on Chiang Kai-shek's Life
Adjust font size:

One day and two day travel packages to discover former Kuomintang leader Chiang Kai-shek's life are expected to be launched soon in Taiwan for Chinese mainland travelers.

According to the Taiwan-based United Evening News, the travel packages will include destinations like Shilin Residence in Taipei, Grass Mountain Chateau, Shimen Reservoir, and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei and Taoyuan County.

Besides, travelers can also visit the former leader's old air-raid shelters, living quarters and study, alongside viewing family photos of Chiang Kai-shek and his wife Soong May-ling, as well as old documents signed by the man himself.

According to new regulations issued last year, mainland visitors will be able to take group tours to Taiwan organized by mainland travel agencies designated by the government.

However, the exact date mainland tourists can start planning trips to the island has yet to be settled. There are still some technical problems, like financial exchanges, requiring further negotiations between non-governmental tourism associations of the two sides.
