Vehicle Pile-up Kills Four, Injures Six in Jiangsu

Four people, including two students, were killed and six others were injured when their bus crashed into the rear of a truck on an expressway in east China's Jiangsu Province, Wednesday morning, local traffic department reported.

The accident happened at about 8 AM, when the bus carrying 54 passengers bumped with a truck registered in neighboring Anhui Province on the expressway between Yangzhou and Nanjing, the provincial capital.

The passengers were mainly students and teachers from the Jiangwang Central Primary School in Hanjiang District of Yangzhou. They were on their way to Nanjing.

One student died at the scene, another student and a teacher died on the way to the hospital, and a tour guide died later in hospital. Six people are receiving treatment in the hospital and two of them are in critical condition.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
