Landslide Kills Four, Injures One in Gansu

Four people were killed and another injured in a landslide early on Friday in the suburbs of Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province.

The disaster happened at 2:00 AM in Huashan Village of Yongdeng County, 60 km away from downtown Lanzhou, burying five villagers who were at sleep at the time, killing four on the spot and severely injuring another.

It is not known whether the victims were from the same family.

The injured is now hospitalized.

Rescue operation is currently in full swing. Cause of the disaster is under investigation.
