Adjust font size:

On June 22, the reporter learned from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense that various preparations for the joint anti-terrorist military exercise of the armed forces of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization members codenamed "Peace Mission-2007" are being carried out smoothly according to schedule.

The Chinese and Russian military expert groups held consultations in Beijing a couple of days ago, and the two sides reached agreement on the transport of the Chinese participating troops. The two sides decided that the Chinese participating troops would enter Russia directly, instead of going through a third country, and then proceed to the exercise site.

According to sources, the Chinese side has prepared several pre-plans concerning the transport of its participating troops. Through repeated study and deliberation, the Chinese and Russian military experts finally adopted the plan prepared by the Chinese side after giving careful consideration to many aspects of the matter, such as how to make it convenient for organization and logistics support.
