What Are Pre-marriage Medical Examinations for?

The pre-marriage examinations are to detect whether the couple has a disease deemed inconducive to marriage by the government, and therefore ensure that they will have healthy offspring after the marriage. It's a move to improve the quality of life of the population of China.
