Changning District of Shanghai held its second talent competition for foreigners on April 14, 2007, and the theme this year was cooking Chinese dishes instead of singing and dancing last year.

 

 

Currently there are more than 60,000 foreign families with about 30,000 members living in Changning District, not including the 21 foreign consulates here.

 

The Changning district government has long been working hard to create a friendly community for foreigners here, and the talent competition is a good example of their work.

 

Some 20 families from the US, Japan, Germany, etc, took part in the competition this year, to whom the competition could serve as a good platform for them to learn Chinese culture and lifestyle, as well as the Chinese language.
