History Documentary from CCTV to be Aired in S.Korea

A history documentary produced by CCTV will be broadcast on South Korean TV.

The 12-episode documentary records the historical roles of nine empires since the 15th Century: Portugal, Spain, Holland, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and the U.S. Broadcast over the course of three years, the documentary, Da Guo Jue Qi(literally meaning 'Rising Power') is the first TV documentary with such a theme to be made in China. It features many experts and professors, asked to reflect on the ups and downs of the nine empires.

The documentary caused great attention when first broadcast on CCTV, with commentators praising its acknowledgment of parallels between history and the present day.

Da Guo Jue Qi will be broadcasted in education channel in South Korea from Jan 29th to Feb 10th.
