Yang Ailun (in pinyin), a New York State lawmaker, and Lu Chengrui, a Shandong provincial association chief in New York State, pose on Sunday with a document issued by the state's legislature, making Sept. 28, the birth date of Confucius, Teachers' Day in 2007.

Yang said she would try to make the date a permanent Teachers' Day.
