Li Peng Meets HK, Macao NPC deputies

Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met with people's deputies from Hong Kong and Macao attending the on-going NPC annual session here Wednesday.
Li thanked them for their contributions to the legislative work and economic development and to promoting closer ties between the two special administrative regions (SARs) and the mainland.
He encouraged the deputies to perform their duties well in the last year of their tenure and see to it that the "One Country, Two Systems" in HK and Macao is implemented to the full and stability and prosperity of the two SARs are ensured and the voices of HK and Macao residents are heard and reflected fully.
