Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee

The 14th session of the 10th Jilin Provincial People's Congress passed a resolution on October 30, 2004, accepting the resignation of Hong Hu from the post of provincial governor and appointing Wang Min as deputy governor and acting governor.

Wang, a native of Anhui Province born in March 1950, just became deputy secretary of Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) earlier this October. He was made deputy governor of Jiangsu Province, east China, in December 1996. With a doctorate in machinery manufacturing, Wang served as farmer, worker, college teacher and deputy president of Nanjing Aeronautics and Astronautics University before July 1994.

He was elected new governor of Jilin by the third plenary session of the 10th Jilin Provincial People's Congress held on January 29, 2005.

In December 2006, he was promoted to be secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee.
