Huang Zhiquan      

Governor of Jiangxi Province

Huang Zhiquan, a native of Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province, was born in February 1942. Huang graduated from the Department of Agricultural Machinery at Zhejiang Agriculture University in 1963. He began work in September 1963 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1979.

Huang successively served as section chief, deputy head and head of the Jiangxi Provincial Planning Commission and assistant of Jiangxi governor. In February 1993, he was elected as vice governor of Jiangxi at the first session of the 8th Jiangxi People's Congress.

In August 1995, he was elected as deputy secretary of the 10th CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee. In January 1998, he was elected as vice governor of Jiangxi at the first session of the 9th Jiangxi People's Congress.

He was elected as governor of Jiangxi at the fifth session of the 9th Jiangxi People's Congress and was re-elected as governor of Jiangxi at the first session of the 10th Jiangxi People's Congress in January 2003.

He was alternate member of the 15th CPC Central Committee and is now a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee.
