Han Yuqun      

Governor of Shandong Province

Han Yuqun, a native from Juning in Jiangsu Province, was born in 1943. He began work in August 1968 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1975. He has a college education.

Han successively served as deputy secretary of the Jining Municipal Party Committee of Shandong Province, mayor of Jining, secretary of the Jining Municipal Party Committee, head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee.

In November 1993, he was elected into the standing committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee at the first session of the sixth CPC Shandong Provincial Committee.

He began to serve as vice governor of Shandong in June 1995 and was re-elected as vice governor at the first session of the ninth Shandong People's Congress in April 1998.

In January 2003, he was elected as acting governor of Shandong at the 33rd session of the Standing Committee of the 9th Shandong People's Congress.

In April 2003, he was elected as governor of Shandong at the First Session of the 10th Shandong People's Congress.
