How is setting off firecrackers as a curriculum in school?

Students in a primary school in Zhengzhou are taking their firecracker-lighting classes.

A primary school in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, is teaching students how to set off firecrackers in a safe way.

In the "classes", students will practice setting off firecrackers on their own, with teachers' guidance. They will learn the "dos and don'ts" of firecracker-lighting via interactive games.

Zhang Yanming, schoolmaster of the primary school, said with firecrackers becoming legal this year, he was concerned about the hazard of students setting off firecrackers without guidance.
