The Shanghai Consul-General of Australia announced yesterday that more than 90,000 Chinese students registered to study in Australia last year, an 11 percent increase on 2005.

Shanghai is largest source of student enrollment for Australia schools, accounting for some 15 percent of the total. Chinese students make up nearly a quarter of Australia's international student body.
