Richest Chinese to Finance 50 Henan Students

Yang Guoqiang, the richest man in the Chinese mainland, will finance 50 poor Henan students to finish their senior high school in Guangdong Province.

 

All the 50 students must be excellent in both character and learning, and they will study in Guohua Commemorative High School in Shunde, Guangdong Province. The information was released by Henan Charity Federation and Guangzhou Charity Federation.

 

The 50 students will not only study for free, but will also get a monthly allowance of 40 to 60 yuan. Yang also promises that he will pay their way through their college and even postgraduate studies.

 

Yang is the president of Country Garden Co. Ltd, a famous property enterprise in Guangdong. With a fortune of approximately 70 billion HK dollars, he is said to be the richest person in the Chinese mainland.

 

Yang founded Guohua Commemorative High School in 2002, to help excellent students who can't afford further education. Every year, 200 students are selected, and the Yangs will help them until they have finished their studies.

 

There is also a scholarship initiated by Yang, from which about 4,000 young people have benefited.

 

It is said that Yang has made donations of about 260 million yuan in the past 5 years.
