Teachers Invited to Summer Resort by Government

Sixty outstanding teachers and their families from across China have recently completed their one-week state-sponsored holiday in Beidaihe, a famous summer resort in northern China.

The 60 teachers, coming from higher education institutes, middle schools, primary schools, vocational schools and kindergartens, are invited to the seaside resort in northern China's Hebei Province by the Communist Party leadership and the State Council.

He Guoqiang, member of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) who is also the head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, and State Councilor Chen Zhili paid a visit to the teachers in Beidaihe on August 4, had dinner with them, and wish them to score more achievements.

Gu Mingyuan, professor with Beijing Normal University, said "facts indicate that the CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to education and professional training. The CPC sincerely take care of teachers."

Since the 16th National Congress of the CPC, the CPC and State Council have been inviting teachers to Beidaihe every year.

Chinese President Hu Jintao recently stressed in one of his important speeches that educational must be given top priority in China's social development.
